- Wyoming’s Industrial Diversification Index Tanks Again. April 2007
The industrial diversification index provides a measure of state employment by major industry relative to national counterpart, i.e. the difference between the state and national shares of employment across industries. The index values increases as the state shares of employment across industries move closer to the US benchmark, and the value of 100 means that Wyoming’s industry mix perfectly matches U.S.’ industry mix. Wyoming’s index has been sinking for the last five years – what does this mean for our state?
